Optimal Force

ATTENTION: The track was designed entirely in Newton 2, and the supports are completely handmade.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. It is much appreciated!

From start to finish, this coaster took me just under three weeks to complete, and it turned out to be my favorite creation that I have ever made BY FAR. This one is just packed with thrilling elements the whole way through, wasting no track at all. As with Millennium Force and Intimidator 305, it features a speedy cable lift (this one going at 12 mph) at a 45 degree angle. After climbing 230 feet in the air, it takes an extreme drop at an 80 degree angle reaching a top speed of 80 mph! It also has a total of four over-banked turns, topping out at a banking of 130 degrees, the other three being 110, 115, and another 110 degrees. After its long, curved underground tunnel comes its signature element: The Hanger. All it really is is a zero-g airtime hill, banked at 90 degrees through the whole crest of the hill, creating a very unique feeling of exposure. And it of course, being an Intamin model, has loads of ejector airtime, getting up to -0.9 G's. That's it for now, so enjoy your ride on "Optimal Force"!

Specifications: - Height: 230 ft - Vertical Drop: 221 ft - Top Speed: 80 mph - Max Vertical Angle: 80 degrees - Track Length: 5,974 ft -Max G Force: +4.2 / -0.9 -Trains: 2 / 28 passengers each - Ride Time: Approximately 2 minutes

Welcome to the exchange! I'm subbed to you on YouTube and i enjoy your rides alot!

T- The track was very smooth and had no pumps or bumps. Your supports were done very well and even the fake support ground was not to noticeable. The colors were cool looking and I felt you did very well on making a large, but compact coaster. The drop, over banks, bunny hops, camel backs, were executed perfectly.

A- This was a very exciting ride and it kept its pace. The sheer 80 degree drop was amazing and seemed to keep the ride going all the way through. This ride contained tons of airtime moments in the bunny hops and camel backs.

O- This fairly original because the ride its self felt different than others I've been on.

Overall wonderful coaster and i cant wait to see your other projects!

Personally, while I agree with most of the observations already made, I liked this design quite a bit. I think bits could have been improved here and there, but overall, you have a very well-made, well-composed, and thought out track. Pacing was good, supports were good (mostly), you had a nice mixture of elements, and the ride ended right as it started to lose its excitement factor.

My main criticism would have to come from a very realistic park-looking-to-purchase standpoint, in that there's nothing to really sell the ride... its speed is average, height is average, mixture of elements is above average, and there's no fantastic path interaction (that I can fish out). These are the kinds of details that drive a really good creation to be epic. My secondary criticism I level at your tunnel - very clever, but I can't help thinking just making a 3DS tunnel would have been easier, faster, and looked much better. I noticed the wooden supports before even entering the tunnel - that said, I did note that what you chose to use probably would have served its purpose better than any other support style/color available in the Editor. Therefore, I commend you, but this track is just sadly not quite as good as I think it could be. But, I think you definitely have an awesome ride in you, it's just a matter of aligning the right characteristics.

Tech: Not bad, your shaping and smoothness were all in order. Your supports could use a little work, especially the towers holding the first hill; they should be a bit slimmer and certain support structures could have been a bit more complex.

Adr: Not bad, I wish you hadn't used the same raised-overbanked-turn-around 3 times (great element but felt sort of repetitive). Other than that air time was great, g's were in check, overall length could have been trimmed a bit.

Org: Fairly original layout, great first drop, again the layout did seem repetitive at points and could have been cut down to a better length. Trees were a nice touch, but also a little bit of terrain work would have gone a long way, especially with an out and back coaster like this. I did really like your underground tunnel though, very inventive.

First off, basically all of my opinions are already stated here. In fact, Ling's rate is about what mine would've been. Also, welcome! I subbed to you on Youtube and enjoy your coasters a lot.

Tech: First and foremost, it's nice to have a ride on here that isn't made by a Newton n00b or so pumpy that it would kill you. Trackwise, this was really, really good except for one thing, the 90 degree hill. I did not like that at all. It just looks really Newton-y and nothing like Intamin would do. Sorry if I sound harsh, I don't mean like that. What I'm trying to say is that I don't like it. Supports - very well done also. 3ds - minimal to none, and the one support 3d looked fake.

Adr: Very thrilling. The first drop was simply epic and each hill delivered just the ridght amount of airtime. Accompanied by the overbanks, it was just wonderful. I305 airtime with MF overbanks.

Orr: Very original for a megacoaster. Not much else that I can say.

Great job!

Technical- The supports were beautiful, and the trackwork was great. None of the Gs got too out of hand.

Adrenaline- Definitely a thriller. I entirely disagree with what Ling said. This would be among the only coasters I know of that invert while being over 200 feet tall. That is not a bad thing- this combines awesome speed and drops with the thrill of inversions. I can see any park being happy to have this in their park, if they had the space. And the tunnel adds to that thrill. (I'm not going to criticize you for not using 3ds. I know I absolutely suck at it, so I can't tell off anyone else for not using it.)

Originality- Very different, but it seems to capture all the greatest things in a roller coaster- inversions, high and steep drops, awesome airtime, even headchoppers (the tunnel, that is) make this coaster one of the best I've seen. ...and I like the flag. :)

T: Trackwork and supporting were both good. I actually didn't even notice how you made the tunnel until reading the reviews here, so I felt that was well executed and a much better solution than just having the track run through the ground if you don't know how to make a 3d tunnel.

A: Honestly didn't find this as exciting as it should be. While the speed was consistently high, it never really 'felt' that fast. I think some more quick changes in direction would have livened things up, as most of the turns were either giant sweeping overbanks or fairly drawn out. Overall it has most of the elements of an exciting ride, it just needs better pacing throughout those elements and a bit more variety.

O: While this ride is well constructed, it really didn't have much to stick out from the dozens of other Intamin hyper coasters I've seen. I will commend your creative tunnel making though (might have to try this on my own rides).

Overall - pretty good coaster in need of a little identity.

Wow! Amazing!

T: I saw nothing really wrong with this section. It was very smooth, the supports were great! I, myself could not have the patience to make a supports made ground, even though it did look obvious that it was wood. You can have alot of potential if you try out .3ds!

A: This coaster is full of adrenaline! I loved the first over-banked turn around. I would of liked to see some inversion though.

Overall I admire your work, and i cant wait for your future coasters! Have a nice day.

I thought the track was really well shaped. It looked very professionally done.

The hills had lots of air time. I liked the first drop. Looked a lot like Intimidator 305.

I liked how you made the tunnel go under the ground. Fortunately we will have real underground tunnels in NL-2.

The pacing of the ride was great. That added a lot to the adrenaline. And the transitions from one element to another was very smooth making the ride very enjoyable.

Not too much on originality but overall I think this would be a really good ride for any amusement park.

Thanks for sharing Optimal Force with us. Like to see more of your rides.

Nice Job!

T: There's nothing to complain about here. The track was glass-smooth. The pacing was a tad off - I was anticipating more ejector airtime. Some of the banking felt awkward.

A: This could have been a bit better. The pacing over the airtime hills, though it created the desired airtime, it felt slower than it should have been. Perhaps sharper crests versus parabolic ones. The tunnel and the 90-degree banked camel hump were nice touches.

O: If this ride were built in real life - it would be a marquee attraction, unlike any Intamin I've ever seen. It almost had hints of B&M in the ride (particularly with the 1st two elements).

Overall, a solidly built and unique coaster. Well done!

T- The track was very well constructed, as were your supports: I was impressed. I thought you did an excellent job of having a lot of good airtime moments, sweet transitions and good speed.

A- The ride kept its pace well, especially through all of the elements. The drop was excellent, the airtime was floaty and the overbanks were sweet. Excellent job.

O- Thought you combined the best elements of a lot of different coasters. Great job.

I overall liked this ride. I really liked how you made the tunnel, with supports.

T- It's smooth, but seems a tad Newtoned. (I wonder why. :P) But the elements flow pretty well.

A- It gets a little slow about halfway through the course, and I think you definitely could have kept the pacing. But it's still fast.

O- I can see some Millenium Force, and actually a little bit of Expedition GeForce. But still original overall. Nice work with this one!

Technical: I just felt that while the g's on the rider were all fine that the shaping was what I'd politely call questionable. Both of the major airtime hills were just a bit too parabolic to be Intamin but too steep for B&M. The overbanks were my biggest concern, they were all entered straight and the initial banking occurred while the path was still mostly straight and then all the turning was on the way back down from the high point of the turn, as opposed to the symmetry of real Intamin overbanks. I guess what I'm getting at is that the shaping is just a little too Newton controlled and could use a bit of revision. The supports were nice but could have used some flanges and the lift structures were just a bit too wide and looked awkward.

Adrenaline: There were some great positives and good airtime but no good interactions with the supports or scenery besides the one tunnel. The elements were all fun but lacked some real flare.

Originality: It had the feel of a Bizzaro to it and seemed just a little to bland without anything to really set it apart from the rest of the Intamin hypers out there.

This had all of the substance of a good project but it could have used a little bit more effort. The shaping wasn't amazing, but it was fun. I like the t-shaped layout. You did well with supports. The track was smooth, and it was exhilarating and original. But the technical standpoints could have seen a little bit more attention.

T - The track was made with newton2, so no jerks or any major pumps. The supports were not completely 'handmade' though, since they are prefab supports. The 'fake tunnel' could have been terraformed though.

A - This ride was exciting, pacing was very good. The ejector airtime of about 1g seems to really throw you out of your seat on the camelbacks and bunny hops.

O - The use of support beams for a tunnel was clever, but fails to impress. The use of elements from Millennium (Lift, speed) and I305 (airtime) is always unique and great.

T- Nice ride. Very smooth, not too much G's, Fast, Brakes not to sudden and Turns not to sharp.

A- Not very fast but fun. It is more mild then what I am used to put great for a park. A great park needs good HUGE thrill rides and Some medium thrill rides like this.

O- I have seen some stuff like this. But it is kind of Original.

O: E' abbastanza originale.

OK, first of all when it comes to coaster structure, I like the layout but the only problem is the duration I prefer longer coaster. Next, for adrenaline it actually has strong Gs (WHOA!!, you might cause blackouts man) . Last, when it comes to originality yes i like it very creative and GOOD JOB. CONGRATS!! haha peace out

This roller coaster is by far one of my favorites. I love hyper-giga coasters. I could tell that this took a while to make. All the small details added up to something big. CoolioJoe100 did a very good job on this coaster. There is nothing I would change. The height and speed builds up a lot of thrill. The layout of this coaster is amazing. I would totally ride this if it was an actual coaster at a theme park.

Great job on the coaster. The ride was very smooth and fluid. The first few overbanked turns were particularly good. The supports were excellent. They fit Intamin's design language and were spaced properly. My only criticism is a lack of unique elements or features that differentiate the ride from others. Excellent work overall!
