Description:

Portharxis is the brand new centerpeice land in this newly opened theme park. Themed around a fantasy port town with a massive rollercoaster twisting throughout. Aeris is the star attraction, an Intamin Mega-lite coaster that twists and turns, barely missing rocks, trees, waterfalls and buildings to produce an adrenaline pumping ride! The ride sets sail after giving guests the opportunity to explore a full sized Airship!

Along with this, the area offers 'The Navigator' attraction, a sensory experience through time and space that will leave you wondering whats up and whats down. The area is also host to the park entrance, the Cheeky Monkey Pub, the Port trading superstore and at the 'Grand Hall', customer services.

Portharxis is just the first of many exciting lands at the park, located next to the 'Wild Canyon' and the 'Enchanted Forest' area of the park. It is also used as a backdrop for the parks star evening show, which takes place on the Argocean lake.

Story:

Welcome to a world quite unlike our own. A world full of wonder and adventure just waiting for you to go and discover. Airships and submarines replace cars and planes in a place that magic is not a myth, but an everyday occurrence. All this powered by the discovery of the legendary ether, Aeris. A 'fifth element', higher than earth, wind, water and fire, Aeris can be harnessed for all sorts of unbelievable experiences. We invite you down to the Sky-port to experience a brand new mecha-vehicle that utilises the power in an all new, insane kind of way!

T - While the track was fairly smooth, there were a few minor bumps. I wasn't wild about the track colors, they seemed out of place and a bit on the plastic side. The heavy use of textures made it render slowly in some places, but most areas flowed nicely. The pause near the beginning seems way too long, maybe posting a sign or something for the riders to read while they wait to take off?

A - The adrenaline level was good, not great, but some areas are tougher to tell because of the rendering issues.

O - The use of the textures and the castle theme throughout helped to keep this fresh and new

Bref, GREAT JOB!

For a mini hyper this thing really packed a punch. It did seem a tad short but intamin minis arent really that long so i wont take off for how short. Man! The scenery was out of this world, you even had rides incorperated into the rides scenery, that was awesome. This would definitely be an awesome addition to a park as a whole section. I did notice alot of small pumping though, but the track was very well laid out. Very origional, I enjoyed this ride alot and it is probably one of my favorite rides. Great job!

T: I have to say this was one of the best I have ridden but it I felt it was over too quickly.

A: It was very smooth and quite intense.

O: Themed great, lot's of work put in to this. Well done.

Really nicely themed coaster!

I liked the way the elements flowed nicely in to each other, as well as throughout the structure. All the elements seem were very deliberately and precisely placed, great effort!. The sparkles at the end were a nice surprise!

The ride was not as long as I would have liked, but what was there was of very high quality. I much prefer to have this quality over quantity.

You did a great job with heartlining, and I felt the track was very smooth overall.

I would love to see more coasters from you and I look forward to seeing what you can do with a longer & larger ride!

Wow, amazing ride

T: The track was very smooth. The supports were awesome.

A: It was a bit thrilling but not very much

O: The 3d objects were awesome.

Well done

T:Ultra Smooth ,but it just felt little short. A:Exciting,Buildings and fogs are AWESOME O:It was a Great themed coaster, and it suits Mega-Lite Very well

This ride is one of the best, I love how the coaster moves on the smooth track, and the mist and sparkels effects are pretty good, and I love when people make the coaster themed in a theme park area. I can't wait for all the other themed coasters you'll make.

A bit short, but the ammount of effort made up for that. All the 3ds, the smoothness and time it probably took to design this in Newton(?), I mean, would've taken me at least a couple days to perfect this kind of design, and you seemed to have done exactly that. Very nice job.

Nice! T: I think that there were very few things to gripe about here. A: Sorry, but it just felt too short. O: Excellent storyline for its background and the 3ds were great. The Navigator was a nice idea to make it seem like a proper theme park, that is rarely done but highly appreciated. The skill and ingenuity with which this ride was created rival those of Xtreme Rider with his masterpiece, Gaia! I would love to see the rest of your aforementioned theme park, and here's hoping that the rest of the rides are just as good as Aeris. DO NOT DISAPPOINT ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice themed coaster.

I liked the way the elements seemed deliberately placed and flowed nicely around the structure. I also liked the little sparkles in the inside portion.

It was pretty short and small so I rated down on the adrenaline a bit. But I would make a point to ride it if it were real.

Track was nice and smooth. Good job with the heartlining.

I would love to see you make more like this (but maybe a little bigger and longer.)

Excellent as always from you. There aren't enough ways to compliment your work. Just simply excellent. Everyone can learn from you about 3D objects, theming, and how a coaster should interact with its surroundings. Amazing.

A very well done mainstream audience coaster that would fit well Disney-type theme parks. The theming and architectural work is great. Using the free-cam you can walk through the center piece structure and see maintenance areas and queues, great attention to detail.

The ride has a nice flow to it, with some exciting elements. With the theming concealing the lift hill, this is one of those rides where you could convince a coaster-phobia person to ride, and its just intense enough to turn said person into a lifetime enthusiast.

For a veteran rider, this one would be a bit tame. I would have liked to see more efficient use of the structure as a thrill element ala Gaia, where the ride dives in and out and under the structure. This ride kind of just moves around the centerpiece. Of course Gaia is a much more intimidating ride. For Aeris' target audience, it does just fine.

A great ride… one of those classic memorable rides in NL. The setting is really well done. The tack work is smooth but gets a little repetitive if we exclude the scenery. Very enjoyable ride with good forces and good speeds. The 3Ds are awesome. The textures are professionally done and everything fits in place… some parts of the 3Ds are only viewable by flying around… but you never missed to detail thems. Great overall.

Très bon coaster !! La théma est elle aussi très belle. Bonne vitesse dans l'enssemble du parcour, avec de beaux elements. Track très smooth. Bravos !!

A great ride from start to finish - simple. The track is a great design and its custom created setting is beutifully done. The castle looks brilliant and the colours and textures are top notch too. The ride is nothing crazy but maintains good speed throughout and is super smooth. Reminds me very much of a runnaway train type ride. Overall very realistic and very awesome. Love it !!

T- This was you're best work to date. I didn't notice a single pump. Your transitions were really well done. I gave this a ten.

A- This would have been higher if the ride were a bit longer. A solid 9

O- This looked a lot like Atlas but the new them was stunning so I give it a 9.5!

T: The roller coaster is impeccable! The 3d objects really are essential.

A: There is a high roller coaster with inversions and not ... but it is not below no no, her curves in the middle of the scenario is radical!

O: It need not comment on that note was 10!

BEA*UTIFUL.

T: No pumps, no bumps, I guess that means...10.0

A: Heavy banking, tight turns, and very well paced. One complaint...I wished it went on forever! It was on the short side for an awesome coaster...9.5

O: Nothin more to say...10.0!

I loved this one, it was very 3d intensive, smooth, and was full of compact tight turns, high speeds and heavy banking.

T- Although the 3ds were impressive and it was really smooth, there were a few places of too much banking. I loved the lift hill, it was fast and not a drag like most.

A- The amount of airtime was amazing. The hills were not very round however, so it could only give several short moments of air. I was displeased to see how there were no inversions, I counted many times were a twisted hill could have been a corkscrew. This unfornutaly makes the ride repetitive. Otherwise, it was exciting.

O- I have seen nothing like it. The whole concept is wonderfully done, and its cool how you can even follow the queue line and pass through the city while heading to the ride. But for some reason, it reminded me of gaia...

Hope to see another one of your creations! Great Job!

T - Definitely better than Xibalba in my opinion but just barely missing the amazingness that was Atlas! I noticed a few minor pumps and one or two snaps in one of the banking turns but I feel that this was some of our best trackwork and I LOVED the concept. 3Ds were, as always with your designs, top notch and I felt that they were the best you've done so far. I loved how you weaved the track in and out of the various structures and it really added to the overall presentation. The track shaping was consistent throughout and the pacing was great.

A - Mega-Lites to begin with are exciting and I haven't seen such a well executed one to date, not to mention with such amazing features including countless head choppers and tunnels. I loved the layout -- it was well thought out and never let up. I really enjoyed how you didn't start out with the lift right out of the station and let the suspense build a bit.

O - Like I said, nothing else like it (although it did remind me of Atlas quite a bit). It's a great ride and I'd love to ride it if it were build somewhere.

good ride, i liked your theming.

T: nice and smooth, this was one of your strong points. all g's were in check as well

A: this is where you suffered...i had to rate down due to how slow and short the ride seemed...it just felt like you could have done alot more with this.

O: This was your Strongest point. nice original layout as well as outstanding theming. Bravo

I thought this was a great ride. It was a very well done coaster.

T: The coaster was very smooth, and the transitions were executed well. However, there was a tree hit, but that was the one flaw.

A: Even though it's not very tall, it delivered high thrill by making short, swift turns. Very nicely done

O: 3Ds are a plus, not only because they make it look good, but you used them well enough to immerse one in the area. Extremely good. Overall, it was a great coaster.

Reminds me a bit of "Myst". But more colorful. And with a coaster added. And a lot less frustrating...

T: There's a whole lot of structure stuffed into a tight space, but it all seems reasonably realistic. Certainly nothing outrageous going on G-wise, which...

A: ...means it's not the most exciting in terms of the track layout, but the proximity to the scenery would bump up the intensity.

O: Yeah, one of the ultra-detailed masterpieces of NL. I hate you ;)

T - Wow! Too perfect! The second best roller coaster I have ever seen! She is very gentle, has great airtimes and the rest is spectacular.

A - radical Well, there are times when I felt inside them, to feel the wind in the face. Hehe

O - A very original idea, the scenery is quite lovely and perfect. Magnifico!

T: This is one of the most beautiful and smooth track i've ever seen. It's very well built and the g's never go red A: That's pretty intense, with heavy banked turns and helix. It would have been even better if it was a bit faster and maybe with some inversions. O: That's what I call Original! The layout was almost perfect and very detailed.

Wow! What a ride! You are the man when it comes to the graphic work. I can only hope that I can make a coaster half as cool as yours. It WAS a tad bit too short, but it was like one of those rides where you wait two hours in line and dispite how short it is you still get back in line for a second time. I hope you have more of them coming in the future. You have definitely set a standard for myself when I start to design.

T: No bumps or high g's and represents many of the natural mega-lite elements!

A: A little short and a little slow, but the scenery made up for it!

O: A mega-lite racing through a forgotten city on an imaginary island! Now that is original!

Wow. Amazing attention to detail. Stunning 3ds work. Loved the addition of the Mad House hidden away under the ride too.

One thing I felt it lacked though was a decent length layout. The layout as it is is great. Action packed with excellent elements but it's just too short! It left me wanting more!

Technical - Excellent. Spot on track work. Supports are excellent.

Adrenaline - Suffers a little here due to the short length, but otherwise, great layout.

Originality - Fantastic theming. Amazing attention to detail.

Tech-To preface this section, I would like to note that, for me, this score is unaffected by your scenery. That being said, your trackwork was great for being done by hand, but there is still definitely room for improvement. The entire track was filled with small pumps that weren't terribly noticeable unless you sat further back in the train and watched to front cars. For you supports, I did like you supports. I was unsure as to why you used the 2 rail track towards the end of the ride. It really wasn't necessary and only complicated the support structure.
Tunnel Test: Passed.
E-stop: Technically Failed. Although trains cannot crash in automatic dispatch mode, I was able to crash 2 trains on the main brake run in manual dispatch. If you had simply made the pre-lift brake a non-block brake, it would have fixed this problem.

Adren-This ride excelled in this category. The ride had excellent pacing and kept the speed up through the duration of the ride. By the end, it left the rider wishing it was longer, but still had sufficient length. Good job here!

Orig-Major points here for the thoroughness of the scenery. Although, this particular style of theming has appeared in a few rides before. As for the layout, it wasn't anything really original and was pretty much a 'run of the mill' mega-lite coaster.

Overall-Definitely very flashy coaster that looks amazing at first glance. However, when you start to look closer at it, you begin to see areas that are lacking. That being said, it is still a great coaster. Congratulations!

PS-When I looked at the 'Cheeky Monkey' sign closer, I had to chuckle. Great logo.

This was a very pretty ride to look at, and a blast to ride, but wasn't technically very good. There were TONS of little wobbles that could be seen on virtually every turn and hill. On the upside, the 3ds looked awesome; I loved the immersion into the setting you provided. I also liked how you could hardly see the coaster at all while you were walking through the town, so when it came by underground or something, it was like, "where is that coming from?", but by the same token you provided enough areas where one could view the ride so that it got its advertising. Adrenaline-ally, it was great. Although it seemed slow in the sim, looking at the G's showed me that it wasn't the case. The originality was, tbh, lacking in several areas. The theme seemed very familiar for some reason, though I can't pinpoint where I've seen it before, and the layout itself was really not too spectacular, and the only thing that saved you was your clever placement of tunnels and other scenery.

Hey man I definitely enjoyed the ride. Just thought I'd add some comments here for you...

Trackwork and layout quality was not great but not bad overall. The main issue, as mentioned before, is the overall twitchy trackwork. Banking and vertical radii are both twitchy in many areas. Some of the worst transitions (also possibly more difficult than some others) were those going from a steep slope into a flat turn. You could've easily improved the twitching by using 5' segments when AHGing instead of your 20' segments. Trust me, it'll make a huge difference long as you do it right.

Shaping was about average, which isn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. I saw some areas where it seemed you really tried to make shaping realistic, and I liked that. Your second S hill in particular was pretty cool and realistic with the banking pause going up the long ascent, with less of a pause going down the shorter descent. The combination of the large drop off the second camelback into the low turn, 2nd S hill, and overbank was also pretty sweet and one of my favorite parts of the ride. I like the layout as a whole (though I'll comment further on the overall layout later). The concentric turns on the one end were cool, though I would add either more vertical beams or some lateral beams attached to those you have, because the forces are high pushing outwards, and the track is pretty high off the ground. Didn't like the last few hills too much...I think they may have been pretty cool and more original if you had a constant radius turn along with the same hill shapes. Though I noticed you tried to make the turn shaping of each of those last few hills unique, they still came off as too similar to the turning pullout, straight hill section, turning pullout hill elements of other rides.

Watch your hill apex shaping for the larger hills...it's too pointy for a realistic Intamin as is. That also reduces adrenaline as it increases the time between positive and negative forces.

Also thought you, like most if not all others, missed a lot of smaller trackwork details that would've really made the ride come to life with greatly increased realism. Maybe you can ride more real Intamin POVs and try to incorporate whatever small details you may notice in your next Intamin design (and same can be said of any other style you may choose to do).

Again, I did like the layout. However, I don't think it was very original, and what parts were original in the short ride I thought weren't as good as those that mirrored the layout of real Megalites. I think you know what parts were pretty close copies of the real ones, and I think you could've improved on your concept so the entire thing was more of your own. With that said, I never rate without considering the company and how similar some of their designs are to others they've done, and Intamin has on several occasions gone with a theme when it's worked well. For example, look at Rita vs. Desert Race vs. Senzafiato vs. F1 Coaster; Dragster vs. Kingda Ka vs. Stealth; Intimidator305 vs. the Megalites; Monte Makaya vs. Colossus and clones; Balder vs. T Express. Sooo for that reason, I will not take off as much as I might have otherwise, because I find it plausible that Intamin might say "hey, this design is working well, lets take the good parts, mod a bit of it, and fit it in and around some scenery." Still, doing so is not as challenging or impressive as having a completely novel layout come off as realistic.

Scenery was very cool. You do a great job of integrating your ride into a scene, and that's not easy to do at all. I loved all the custom details you included, like the random sculptures and the themed madhouse. The first turnaround was more fun than it might be otherwise because of the way you had it thread the little bridges on the one building. The quality of the theming is top notch, as I'm sure you know. I could see something similar going into a Universal or Disney type park. I saw some texturing details you rushed through...things like the wood texture for the tables being too large and turned diagonally. Not a huge deal, but still noticeable.

Good job overall, even if the trackwork quality and layout left a bit to be desired. I still enjoyed all the immersion you offered through your work. Well done man. I look forward to more :)

T- Not as smooth as I expected, but still good. There is a e-stop problem and sometimes the g's are a bit high.

A- A lot of airtime and fast turns - very good.

O- Really good scenery. Don't know what to say else. Good job.

Layout was not too original but very well planned and all elements worked well together. Track was extremely smooth, and pacing was good. Great job on theming and 3Ds. Flying thru, under and around the structures really added to the adrenaline. Overall this was a great themed, fun and exciting ride!

T: Couldn't find any fault except a little bumpy in places

A: Fast and thrilling throughout but i would like it to have been longer

O: the world is very well detailed and its clear that a lot of effort has gone into itbut i couldnt work out the theme and layout was a bit messy

T: Not many rough bits very smooth. Nice lift hill. Some G's were pretty high on the hills but sometimes that is not a bad thing.

A: Lots of airtime. I personally liked the high G's. It's more of a coaster for an adrenaline junkie, i like it.

O: Some of the best scenery ever i especially liked the Vekoma Madhouse that was a nice touch.

T: The ride is smooth, maybe sometimes a bit agitated but there are no real unsmooth points. The lift was great, but if you push the e-stop there´s the problem that the train stops if it is ad he point before the lifthill.

A: There was nice airtime, some harder G´s and good turns. Overall evyrbody would have fun on it, but I would say it´s more for guys that like thrill and not little children, but that´s what we want!

O: Of course the theming is amazing, very detailled and just great. Nothing negative about this.

The ride was extremely original in it's theming. However, that seemed to be the best part...

T - Track is pretty smooth. I like your comment "hand built with help from AHG". Personally, I don't care how it was built, a better coaster will always be a better coaster. The ride fails the e-stop. No collisions just the train stopping and not starting again. Your supports are strangly done. You seem to have too many supports (which is fine) but there is only one tube, or a single tube is used as a bridge. Many coasters use 2 or three tubes per "support" to support the track in all directions needed. G's were all in line but -1 G's is a bit high in the hills.

A - It didn't seem like the coaster did anything special. There were a couple hills with rolls that were almost identical. While it was well done the coaster felt average.

O - The scenery was very original. The coaster nicely interacted with the scenery.

This ride is absolutely amazing! It is so detailed and is fun to just walk around and explore! I found that the entrance to the ride was a bit hard to find but that doesn't matter! I really want to see more from you!

This ride blew me away - seriously! I have been waiting for a great ride for a very long time, and here is one right now! Everything was awesome and well put together - even the cartexture was imaginative! There were only several tiny bumps in the track itself, but that doesn't really matter considering how quality this ride is overall. Nice job, and I want to see more rides from you!

Love the detail and creativity.

Short ride, hard to find entrance. A few pumps here and there, but otherwise it was great! I will have to give it 10 for everything except technical because of a few e-stop problems throughout the ride, and a hard to ride entrance. GOOD JOB!!

Fantastic!

T-Very smooth throughout! I didn't see a single spot that wasn't absolutely perfect!!

A-Very thrilling from the first drop to the end! Not a whole lot of big hills though, but that's partly because of the theme of the ride!

O-Undoubtedly one the most original rides I've seen! Great detail in the scene objects!

Great job!!

Wow... such detail!

I do love this whole world you have created.. a few things i wasnt a HUGE fan of... one was the face that i found if VERY difficult to find the entrance to the ride! If i "walked" in from the main entrances, i could not find the entrance! I had to fly to the station and work my way out, This would really piss me off if i was in the park! AMAZING RIDE but you cant ride if cause you cant find the entrance. Next time try to think more simply in the entrance location, then do nuts on the queue...

This ride itself was short, but alot of fun and full of direction changes that i wasnt expecting! Amazing!

For a small ride, this ride is amazing! great job CrazyCoaster!

BT - Pretty damn good. There were a few pumps, and I noticed one banking twitch, but other than that it's pretty top notch. Supports were great and were realistic.

The track shaping was consistent throughout and the pacing kept up also. The element placement was great and really helped keep the ride interesting and fun.

Now on to the best part... The Theming. Once again this is top notch. The theming was much more intensive than any of your other rides and the amount of time and effort you put into it shows so clearly.

AD - Well all the head choppers, fast turns and airtime is amazing. So you did great here.

OR - THeres nothing like this anywhere. So you win here too.

Overall, it's your second best coaster. You've still not topped Atlas. But good luck on your next creation.

Trackwork is good, but the shaping is off at times, and there were a few pumps here and there. Saying that though, its your best effort to date in that department and for a hand built ride, its pretty impressive. The supports were pretty good to; they fit well with the scenery and were quite accurate to the style. As for the ride itself, the elements were great and the layout was awesome. My only complain is the sort length, but seeing what its based after, I suppose its realistic.

Now, I may have missed something, but something else made this ride pretty special. I remember it being really impressive, creative and interesting, but I just can't put my finger on it. Ah well, whatever it is, it was an amazing piece of work and it was certainly worth the extra time doing.
